CTNC works with landowners, local land trusts, and government agencies to save the places you love.
We help North Carolina’s local land trusts by obtaining grants, emergency loans and other funding for their projects; lobbying in Raleigh and Washington for laws and funding that encourage conservation; helping to manage coalition efforts; and coordinating public awareness efforts.
We also work directly to protect natural areas along the Blue Ridge Parkway, conserving 30,000 acres to date of spectacular vistas that make this scenic road the most-visited unit of the National Park Service. In other areas of the state, we sometimes serve as an easement partner with local land trusts, combining skills, resources and expertise to permanently protect threatened properties.
