Land for Tomorrow Moves Forward Today

Rep. Lucy Allen and Sen. Charlie Albertson are introducing bills today to provide $1 billion in new conservation funding for North Carolina. These funds will be used to protect critical land and water resources in the state for future generations.

We need your immediate assistance. Please contact your legislator today to urge them to cosponsor the bills. Legislators only have about 24 hours to cosponsor bills after they're introduced, so we need you to contact them immediately.

Thanks to your grassroots support, funding for Land for Tomorrow is a real possibility this year. Rep. Allen and Sen. Albertson see the bills introduced today as starting points for what will be further legislative discussions on how to provide more conservation funding. The bill includes $1 billion in new funding through a general obligation bond just like last year's bill. However, it is quite possible that the legislative process will produce a mix of funding sources.

You can learn more about Land for Tomorrow and how to support more land and water conservation funding by going to www.ctnc.org. You can also help protect more critical North Carolina land and water resources by donating to the Conservation Trust and/or your local trust today.
