United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program (CREP)

A state and federal partnership that allows landowners to receive incentive payments for installing specific conservation practices along watersheds. Landowners of existing agricultural land within the Neuse, Tar-Pamlico and Chowan river basins and the Jordan Lake watershed are eligible to participate in CREP

United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Conservation Reserve Program (CRP)

Provides annual rental payments and cost-share assistance to establish long-term, resource-conserving covers on eligible farmland.

United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP)

A program that shares the cost of installing Best Management Practices on agricultural land.

North Carolina Division of Soil and Water

Soil and Water Conservation Districts are organized to plan and carry out a conservation program that local farmers and communities need and want. Resources are available from local, state and federal agencies for coordinated conservation programs.
