North Carolinians Help Save Mountain Landscapes!
August 24, 2007
More than 100 people gathered at the Conservation Trust for North Carolina’s Blowing Rock reception August 24th to raise funds to save land along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The event raised more than $15,000 for land protection in Alleghany, Ashe, Avery, Watauga, and Wilkes counties. The money will be used to protect land along the Parkway and assist local land trusts Blue Ridge Rural Land Trust, High Country Conservancy, and the National Committee for the New River to protect valuable mountain lands in the area.
The Blowing Rock reception was hosted by a committee of committed conservationists from across the state. Steve and Terry Moberg, owners of the Inn at Crestwood in Blowing Rock, generously contributed to the Parkway’s protection by donating delicious appetizers, fine wines, and the use of their Inn for the gathering. Jeffrey Scott of Frontline Conservation Real Estate, which matches conservation properties with conservation buyers, also generously sponsored the event.
