State Protects Land near Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site
RALEIGH - The North Carolina Department of Cultural Resources today announced it is has acquired 22 acres adjacent to the Carl Sandburg Home National Historic Site to preserve the natural and historical integrity of the Site. The State purchased the property from the Conservation Trust for North Carolina, a statewide non-profit land trust.

Conservation Trust Tranfers Little Table Rock Mountain Property to the State of North Carolina
RALEIGH - The Conservation Trust for North Carolina announced today it has transferred a 544-acre property at Little Table Rock Mountain to the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission for its long-term preservation and management. The tract is adjacent to the Blue Ridge Parkway at the juncture of Avery, Mitchell, and McDowell counties, near Spruce Pine.

Conservation Trust Donates Property at Linville Falls to National Park Service
RALEIGH - The Conservation Trust for North Carolina announced today that it has donated 356 acres of land adjoining the Linville Falls portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Linville Gorge Wilderness Area to the National Park Service. The forested tract is located in Burke County at Mileposts 315 and 316 on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Conservation Trust for North Carolina Donates Land to National Park Service
RALEIGH - The Conservation Trust for North Carolina announced today that it has donated ten acres to the National Park Service to protect scenic views along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The property is located on the south side of the Parkway at milepost 290 at the Thunder Hill Overlook north of Blowing Rock.

Conservation Trust Donates Elk Mountain Property to National Park Service
RALEIGH - The Conservation Trust for North Carolina today announced that it has donated approximately 75 acres of property at Elk Mountain to the National Park Service to protect the Mountain’s scenic views along the Blue Ridge Parkway. The property is located at Milepost 376, just north of Asheville, on the west side of the Parkway.

Study Compares Parkway Scenic Quality
ASHEVILLE - A comparison of recent studies shows that visitors place a high dollar value on the scenic views along the Blue Ridge Parkway, but those who travel the Virginia section are most worried that adjacent development is compromising those views, while those in North Carolina put air quality as their top concern.

The Conservation Trust for North Carolina and National Park Service Partner to Protect Blue Ridge Parkway Overlook
RALEIGH - The Conservation Trust for North Carolina today announced that it has transferred 34 acres of land in Wilkes County to the National Park Service to be added to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The property is located near milepost 272 at the Cascades Overlook and is just north of Highway 421 near West Jefferson.
