Progress Energy Foundation Farmland & Water Quality Conservation Plan
Progress Energy awarded the Conservation Trust $25,000 to improve water quality in Progress Energy’s eastern North Carolina service area through conservation of upland agricultural areas associated with ongoing water quality land trust projects. The grant is funding creation of a conservation plan using GIS data to prioritze areas that are important for both protecting water quality and preserving farms. The plan will be used by land trusts to target their land protection efforts.
